This beautiful neck cushion is named for the small, 900-year old Buddhist monastery in Alchi, Ladakh, a hamlet high in the Indian Himalayas. This temple complex has some of the best-preserved examples of Buddhist art, from walls covered with hundreds of small seated Buddhas to weathered paintings of ikat fabric decorating the ceilings. A coveted commodity along Asia’s great Silk Road, the skill and time required to dye and weave ikat is so revered in some cultures it is believed the cloth is imbued with magical powers.
Supports the neck during meditation and restorative yoga. Also wonderful as gentle, comforting weight on your stomach, ankles or hands during savasana. Buckwheat hull fill adjusts to neck contour. Zipper runs the length of the cover for easy access to remove or add buckwheat hull fill.
