Artisans hand-block print chattra yoga mat bags in divine prints inspired by architectural design elements found in the historical palaces, forts and temples of India, and of India’s textile heritage.
Navy Bandhani Yoga Mat Bag’s delicate, complicated pattern is inspired by the dots and circles of Bandhani tie and dye. From the word bandhan, Hindi for tying up, bandhani is used in the turban, sari and skirt fabric of Rajasthan and Gujurat.
Hand-block printed shades of blue give depth and richness. Finished with illuminating orange piping and a colorful mirror tassel like those seen on the camels of Rajasthan’s great Thar Desert.
Generously sized to fit all mat sizes. Features easy access drawstring opening, adjustable shoulder strap, and outer zip pocket.
The artisan's hand work is revealed in each chattra textile, including print density and block alignment; imperfections are characteristic and add to the charm of this traditional technique.
